Management Development

If it has anything to do with paperwork or the day-to-day running of the chapter…then you have come to the right place.

The chapter Management Area covers many different functions. The local Vice President in each chapter is responsible for many functions. Here is a list of all of the things Management VPs are responsible for:

  • Chapter Management (planning and evaluation)
  • Financial Management
  • Chapter Activities
  • Develop a “Plan of Action” for an area based on the results of membership surveys
  • Supervise and train assigned Directors
  • Oversee the selection and training of project chair people
  • Write and submit monthly articles for chapter publication
  • Periodically evaluate the Area plan and report progress to the chapter’s board
  • Provide a written evaluation of Area at mid-year and year-end
  • Oversee all ways and means projects
  • Oversee recognition program for the chapter
  • Ensure Blue Chip submissions are done on a timely basis

The Management Development Vice President keeps up with what’s going on and who’s doing it. Why? Simply put, because each member must be involved in the Junior Chamber to get any benefit from it.

Management Development is the area that tracks the health of the chapter by knowing about progress being made on the accomplishments of chapter goals. Chapter health is recorded through the Blue Chip program.  It is the Management VP who makes sure proper paperwork is submitted for these programs.

The Management Vice President also assists in providing social and recognition programs to the members to ensure continued interest in the chapter by the members.  So, as you can see, you as the Chapter Management Vice President have a lot of responsibility.

Congratulations for taking such a huge step in your Jaycee career. Here is the good part, you have a whole chapter, regional board and state staff to help and assist you by lending advice and their knowledge. All of this put together, will help you and your chapter to succeed.
