Membership Development
Welcome to
the Membership area of the Iowa Jaycees. We are excited that
you’ve taken the first step to find out what Membership truly means.
Membership in the Iowa Jaycees is phenomenal.
It is not just recruiting a new member but also really
sharing the Jaycees with people in your community. Providing them the
benefits of our organization and then asking them to become a part of the
greatest organization in the world.
Recruiting is just a part of what
membership is. After you have asked them to join, you’ll need to
get them activated. Springboard/ Degrees is just one way to get them
active. Let them be a part of your chapter and have them really get
involved.
In this
portion of the website, you will be able to get the tools you need to
achieve your goals of building a stronger chapter through membership.

Member
Activation: Springboard & Degrees
Springboard is designed for first year members, as a tool for the chapter
to activate new members and ensure that they have the opportunity to gain
the benefits of membership. Find
out more about Springboard & Degrees here.

Looking
for Some Recruiting Ideas?
Every organization needs new ideas, new perspectives and new blood to
become even stronger in the community. Here are a couple ideas to get you
started:
- Send a special
newsletter to all prospective Jaycees
describing the benefits of membership and asking them to join.
- Adjourn during
a chapter meeting asking everyone to leave and bring a prospect back
to the meeting.
Print a newspaper article with information on the
Jaycees, the chapter, and chapter projects with a photo of a new
member being sworn in.
- Prepare a dart
board with one-, five-, and ten-dollar bills taped to it. If a chapter
member brings a guest to a meeting, they get to throw one dart at the
board. If they recruit a new member, they get two throws. Whatever the
dart hits on the board, they can keep.
